For Lashes that Stand Out & Shout

My whole life I have struggled with poker-straight eye lashes. I have admired the pictures in magazines and on billboards. For years I have used a combo of eye lash curlers and mascara to try and achieve big beautiful lashes. I’ve even tried heating the curler! No matter what curler I tried, none of them seemed to create the intensity that I was seeking. Even with all this effort my eyelashes would fall throughout the day.

I came to the realization that there was no hope for my stubborn lashes; until I met a girl at a seminar I had attended and couldn’t help but compliment her on her amazing lashes.
She asked me if I had ever  tried the Japonesque “Go Curl Eyelash Curler”. When I replied that I hadn’t, she immediately grabbed her bag, handed me this little device and without a second thought sent me to the mirror to try it. I could not believe my eyes at what I saw.

This tiny, strange-looking device curled my eyelashes with only one pump. Just like that my eyes had a makeover. My eyes just popped!!!!!   I went out immediately and bought one and now I can’t live without it. I have to admit; it may take a bit to learn how to use it effectively, but once you do, you won’t go back to your previous curler.

Because of the open cage design your outer lashes won’t pinch and it’s small enough to fit in your pocket. Whether your lashes are bare or have mascara applied to them they will stand up and shout, ‘look at me’! Plus as an added bonus you get free refills for the life of the curler from the company, and there is an extra replacement pad tucked in the end of the curler.

Check out this amazing curler that will give you eye-popping results at www.japonesque.com.

The perfect pout

Cotton candy, roses, bubble gum, strawberries, so many memories stem from this color. There is just something about the color that energizes me. When I was little I use to wear this sparkly pink lipstick, then as the years went on I steered away from bold colored lips and went with neutral glosses. I have been wanting to find a pink lipstick that could go with anything. I searched and searched but nothing was really right.

Last year I was fortunate enough to participate in a charity event for Run for the Cure in Vancouver. The event was amazing. Not only did it raise awareness, it allowed me to wear my favorite color while remembering and embracing all that have been touched by this cause. On this day I had the chance to meet Erin Ireland, Vancouver based Foodie who wore this stunning Pink Lipstick. I left that day and didn’t ask the specific color and as the days went on the question was burning in my mind. I finally decided to contact her and find out. She informed me that this amazing lipstick was by Yves Saint Laurent, their Rouge Pur Couture #49 http://www.ysl.com/

I went out immediately and bought it and it quickly became my newest obsession. Everytime I have worn it out I have had so many people, men and woman, come up and comment on how great it looks. For some reason I was scared to wear such a bright color, which is a little surprising as I feel I have this “little but loud” attitude. I can truly say that this new find is one that I will purchase over and over with the years to come. One thing I have learned from this little bold tube is that you have to put yourself out there and try something crazy and new. You might just surprise yourself and put a little spice back into your life.

I want to say thank you to Erin for introducing me to YSL’s #49. Not only does she have great taste and style but she makes banana bread that’s “To die for”. http://itstodiefor.ca/ . Stay tuned for an upcoming post for a home-made banana mask!
